Work & Experience
It was a virtual unpaid internship.
I worked as Research Intern for 3 months. My primary task was to assist in documentation, proposal writing etc ,social media manage, writing contents and newsletters, writing blogs, managing outreach and volunteering activities.
My task was to maintain and monitoring volunteer related initiative and projects. Writing blogs,contents for outreach and social media. Helping the team in documentation, project proposal, Manage new recruments and traingin.
My role included, but was not limited to, researching and developing proposals for funding opportunities and partnership collaborations, and preparing concept notes and proposals that effectively communicated the organization’s objectives and initiatives. I contributed to project design by generating ideas, translating concepts into actionable plans, piloting initiatives, documenting processes, and resolving operational issues. I identified and assessed potential funding sources and grants aligned with the organization’s mission and coordinated the submission of funding applications while ensuring compliance with deadlines and requirements. I also supported administrative and knowledge management functions by preparing reports, presentations, meeting agendas, SOPs, manuals, and other project-related documentation, and by facilitating training sessions and workshops. As part of research support, I conducted literature reviews in the fields of public health and GIS and monitored research publications and reports to inform organizational strategies. Additionally, I assisted in preparing outreach and information materials in collaboration with design and content teams to effectively communicate the organization’s mission and impact. My responsibilities further included GIS and data-related tasks such as digitizing and editing GIS features, processing spatial data, downloading and extracting study area data, conducting data quality checks, merging datasets, preparing map layouts, and exporting maps using ArcGIS Pro. I also supported data entry preparation and platform integration, including form creation when required, and performed other tasks assigned by the team leader as needed.
It was a remote job through GroupMappers where we were in contract with MORU, In my role, I was responsible for managing, processing, and converting spatial data to support project activities. I extracted physical features from satellite imagery using QGIS and ArcGIS Pro and prepared geospatial datasets using advanced GIS tools and Python scripting. I created maps for data validation and quality control (QC), conducted topology checks, and developed and managed GIS databases, including database management through QGIS Cloud. I also designed map layouts and produced geospatial outputs using ArcGIS Pro. Additionally, I coordinated with field teams for planning, communication, and validation of data collection activities. As part of my responsibilities, I contributed to the GFATM Climate Change and Health Project by supporting geo-referenced health management information systems and carried out tasks assigned by the team leader to support overall project objectives.
